Dr. John Moncure

 

John recently retired as Headmaster of the Montessori School of Camden.

After his retirement from the Army in 1997, John joined the Montessori school in Camden. He has served as President of the Board of Directors of Montessori Educational Programs International (MEPI) from 2000 to 2005 and 2009-2015, and 2020-2021. He was a founding member of the South Carolina Montessori Alliance (SCMA) and served for five years as treasurer of the Board of the International Montessori Council.

In 2006 John was appointed Principal of Eton Academy, a bilingual Montessori school in Beijing China, and in 2007 became Director of Operations of the Montessori Foundation and the International Montessori Council. He is also an On-Site Visitor for the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE) and was honored with the MACTE “Wisdom of the Elders.” John represented MEPI on the Montessori Leadership Collaborative and is the course director for School Administrators with the MEPI-affiliated Institute for Guided Studies in Camden.
