Positive Discipline - Pt 2 - Language & Limits by Sarah Galley
Sunday - February 28, 2021 - 10:00am Eastern Standard Time
This follow-up session will help us set respectful limits for the child which are kind, yet firm. Our language we choose can make or break a positive outcome for the child.
Sarah Galley originated from Wisconsin but now calls North Carolina her home.
She attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where she received her B.A. in English and was first exposed to Montessori through her Aunt. After college, Sarah began working at Charlotte Montessori School. She spent six years as a Toddler teacher. During this time, she received her Infant/Toddler certificate as well as falling in love with a group of children that she couldn't part with. This began her journey into the 3-6 Early Childhood training, in which she now has her certification. She also has her Positive Discipline Parent Educator certificate. She has spent the past year falling in love all over again with the Montessori philosophy, as well as becoming more active among the Montessori community. For the past four years, Sarah has presented at the MEPI conference on a variety of topics. Sarah loves spreading the practice and knowledge of Montessori, and spending time with her large family and her dog (Packer).
While attending an MEPI conference back in 2014, Sarah observed the efforts and passion of the board members and felt inspired to present workshops and encourage the love of Montessori to sprout in others in the many years since then. She is now a current MEPI Board member and is the Chair of the Shirley Plath Fund Committee.
